UK university application process

UK universities recruit students through various processes. Here is the flow-chart:

  1. Check your eligibility: Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for a UK study visa.
  2. Choose your course and institution: Select the course you want to study and the institution where you wish to study.
  3. Apply for your course: Apply and get accepted into your chosen course at a licensed Tier 4 sponsor institution. You will need to receive a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your institution.
  4. Prepare your documents: Gather the necessary documents for your visa application.
  5. Complete the online application: Fill out the online application form on the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) website.
  6. Pay the application fee: Pay the application fee for your visa.
  7. Schedule a biometric appointment: Schedule an appointment at a visa application center (VAC) to provide your biometric information.
  8. Attend your appointment: Go to your scheduled biometric appointment at the VAC.
  9. Wait for a decision: Wait for a decision on your visa application.
  10. Receive your visa: If your visa application is approved, you'll receive your passport with the visa vignette (sticker) inside it.
  11. Travel to the UK: Once you have your visa, you can travel to the UK before the start date of your course.
  12. Arrive in the UK and collect your BRP: When you arrive in the UK, you'll need to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) from the designated collection point.
